NIC ICE Ltd Office Design and Fit Out

Premium Scandinavian ice cream accessories company, Nic Ice, is the number one choice for companies throughout the ice-cream industry with 4 offices in the UK. As a modern, agile business they wanted to transform their Barking office into a workspace that represents the brand’s modern outlook and approached Officescape to develop the solution.

The design brief was to produce a modern, bright and intelligently-structured office to inspire staff and visitors, whilst keeping to a strict budget and 10-week renovation schedule.

The London office fit out project, which spans some 8,170 sq ft across two buildings and four floors, presented some interesting challenges, not least some failing infrastructure due to the age of the building, and the complexity of a fully-functioning factory section which shares services that had to remain uninterrupted.

Despite reduced capacity due to Covid-19, the Officescape team managed, with careful pre-planning, on-site management and constant communication with the Nic Ice team, to complete the London office refurbishment within the scheduled time and budget, including two weeks of major demolition and removal of debris, and with no interruption to factory services.

The new office uses a mix of crisp white and black with blocks and dashes of primary colours, a mix of soft and hard furnishings, accents on select walls and plentiful natural light to transform the space into a bright, agile and easy-flowing space.

Large glass internal walls separate offices and meeting rooms without creating darkness; modern fittings and fixtures in the office and bathrooms draw on the company’s Scandinavian connection, and various breakaway areas, a smart new canteen and locker room round off the transformation.
