Mount Street LLP were located at the Woolgate Exchange, 25 Basinghall Street London EC2V 5HA where their current accommodation was not offering the expansion potential required by the growing business. From our initial client briefing meeting, it became apparent that the existing space was very siloed – with staff within different departments of the business working on separate floors, making cohesion and collaboration more difficult across the entire business.
Following an extensive property search – a fantastic new office space at 100 Wood Street was selected as the proposed new home for Mount Street. This Norman Foster designed building, offered everything that the business needed, a large open plan footprint, close to the existing office so travel routes for staff wouldn’t be impacted and fantastic views and access to natural light across the floorplate.
The design brief was to create a warm, welcoming environment with a nod to domestic softness that would be evident to all visitors and staff entering the space. Mount Street as a business are going through a transformation of their own and moving forward were expecting greater client traffic into their offices. Our design team created a space which allowed for greater capacity and flexibility for hosting meetings – both internal and external. Instrumental to the new design, was a new front of house space for visitors, and separate zones for relaxation, collaboration, and breakout – facilitating Agile working for the staff which previously would have been difficult at Woolgate Exchange.
Officescape competitively pitched and won the design and build of this project against a shortlist including some of the leading London design firms, with our client led, design focused – people-centric approach.
