Global FTSE 100 Company Reception Reception Refurbishment

Our client, a Global FTSE 100 specialising in emission control technologies, needed assistance from the onset of their project – to completely refurbish their HQ reception space in Hertfordshire.

Following initial meetings and utilising our unique Discovery approach – we identified that we needed to approach this reception project from a different angle – to completely change the way visitors and staff engage with the brand of the organisation, right from the approach to the building, the way visitors are met and greeted all the way through to the touch down space where visitors and staff alike can self-serve drinks and break out into a dedicated space in relative privacy.

Working alongside the project lead as Consultants, we worked with Staff to identify the key drivers behind this project. As part of our Discovery phase we analysed; – visitor flow, carried out space occupancy analysis, identified the average waiting times for new visitors and took particular note of the acoustic & security concerns with the current reception space. Finally, we analysed the data which enabled us to build a clear picture of what Shape the Design process needed to follow.

As a result of our Shape process, the results combined as a complete D&B project involving extensive refurbishment works to the existing building fabric. This included strip out of the space back to shell and core, strip out and new M&E system, replacement of all finishes including a bespoke reception desk which was manufactured in sections off the site to minimise on site work and disruption to staff in this fully occupied building.
This reception space links various areas of the building together and is a vital focal point for the new brand identity that this client is transitioning to, throughout their office portfolio on a global scale.
